with two alternatives for your after-hours care.Through our gpConnect after-hours services, you can either visit one of our after-hours clinics, or alternatively have a doctor visit you at your home. In either case, we will provide your regular doctor with a medical report the next working day.
When you call our home-visit service or one of our clinics, you will normally be asked for some personal information including your name, date-of-birth, address, regular doctor and Medicare card details. gpConnect bulk-bills the vast majority of their services (for valid Medicare card holders).
Common Questions
Is it difficult to get a doctor to visit our home at night?
No, in the vast majority of cases. However, occasionally in peak periods we may advise you to consult one of our doctors in an after hours clinic as demand may be high. Click to find out more about home visits
Are there any fees for seeing a doctor?
All patients seen in one of our after hours clinics are bulk billed as long as they have a current medicare card. The vast majority of home visits are also bulk billed.
Does my usual GP find out about my consultation?
Yes. Your usual GP will be notified on the next business day and any relevant information will be given to him especially if it helps with your follow up if needed.
